High-Level Meeting on Haiti

On the sidelines of 80th Session of United Nations General Assembly, an in-person discussion to highlight Kenya's perspectives on the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission to Haiti including its experience and lessons learned in the past year and urge global support for the transition of MSS Mission to the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) and establishment of a UN Support Office in Haiti.

Transitioning the MSS mission to a Gang Suppression Force (GSF) The UN Security Council is currently negotiating a resolution to transition the MSS Mission to a new Gang Suppression Force (GSF) with a robust mandate to take the fight to the gangs. With the added support of a UN Support Office to relieve logistical challenges plagued by the MSS Mission, the new GSF, with its ceiling of 5500 personnel, has the full backing of the Haitian government to restore peace and restore security for the Haitian people.
