Dedication of the "Flower of Srebrenica" Permanent Memorial

Ms. Melissa Fleming, Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications hosted the event. Ms. Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations; His Excellency Mr. Denis Bećirović, Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Mr. Chaloka Beyani, Special Adviser of the Secretary-General for the Prevention of Genocide; and Ms. Munira Subašić, President of the Association of the Mothers of Srebrenica and Žepa, delivered remarks. 

Member States, Senior United Nations officials and United Nations personnel, representatives of United Nations Offices, Funds and Programmes, and civil society attended the dedication ceremony in the sculpture garden of the UN Headquarters in New York. 

The Memorial was gifted to the Secretariat of the United Nations by Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the Srebrenica Genocide and the United Nations Outreach Programme. This dedication takes place on the 30th Anniversary year of the Srebrenica incident (July 1995).
